Waivers $5 monthly fee for 2 months

AT&T is offering its BlackBerry subscribers running BlackBerry 7 phones two months of free BBM Music. The carrier has tweeted that it has downloaded the offer to users' media folders. BBM is RIM's cloud-based music service that the company launched in November (BlackBerry App World).

RIM's BBM music service goes head to head against similar independently operated services such as Spotify. For $5 per month, users can choose and store up to 50 songs. Subscribers who get friends to enroll in the service can swap out up to 25 songs per month and get access to those 50 extra songs. This undercuts Spotify's pricing model: its mobile users must pay $10 per month. However, for that price, Spotify subscribers can download an unlimited number of songs.

Although offered by AT&T, a two-month's free trial is not new to BlackBerry owners. RIM offered a similar deal to all users as part of its rollout. [via CrackBerry]
