Carrier confirms network problems

Yet another Verizon leak corroborates several rumors pointing to a Galaxy Nexus launch delay, though the latest information pegs December 13 as the revised date. Multiple sources previously claimed Verizon was planning to offer the device on December 9, however the carrier is currently attempting to resolve an outage with its LTE network.

The company is said to have previously notified all stores of the December 9 launch date. Employees also claim the devices are already sitting in inventory, which suggests the problems are not due to a shipment delay from the manufacturer.

Although most staff are said to be unaware of the motivations behind the corporate decision to stall the launch plans, the carrier has confirmed that it is having problems with its LTE network in certain areas. Subscribers have complained that their 4G-capable devices are only connecting via 3G.

Verizon claims its 4G problems are not widespread across the whole country, however the company has yet to provide an estimate for full service restoration. [via Android Central and Droid-Life]
