Sony says PS Vita allows multiple accounts through cards

Company denies recent reports
Sony has attempted to downplay recent reports that claimed the upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld will restrict users to one account on each device. The company has clarified the limitations, suggesting the single-account restriction will be tied to memory cards rather than the devices. The comments suggest users will be able to run multiple accounts, but only if they purchase several of Sony's own memory cards.
“Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita,” Sony brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie told Wired in a statement. “So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset.”
Recent reports also suggest the device will initially limit the full potential for multitasking, blocking users from browsing the web while a game is active. The software will still allow users to check friends' lists, control music playback or access social networking features while playing a game.
Sony is expected to ship the Vita in North America on February 22, with prices starting at $250 for the Wi-Fi model.
