Jawbone offers refunds and users can keep the Up

Jawbone is offering a refund for its Up fitness and lifestyle tracking bracelet. Some users have reported their devices aren't working properly, affecting the battery's ability to hold a charge along with a syncing issue.

Users have found these defects within the first seven to ten days of use. The refund option is unique in the industry, as users can take the money and keep their admittedly faulty Up bracelet. They just need to promise not to resell it.

The refund program goes into effect on December 9. Jawbone has stopped production of the device until it fixes the issue. Existing users will continue to receive app updates.

I know I'm getting one for Christmas

And I have bought and sent 2 away for friends gifts. Not sure what to tell them now. "Uh yeah, that gift I got you that you haven't opened yet, don't bother. just send it back to me. Kind of cheesy.

Good for Jawbone for coming good for it.
