Google enhances movie search for Android, iPhone

Google has detailed a change to the way its mobile search engine returns movie theater results on Android and iOS. The most relevant information is displayed at the top of the page, while all results are returned in a ribbon that can be swiped. The displayed data includes the movie poster, summary, ratings, and the nearest theaters and showtimes.

As users select a different movie poster, show time information is updated for the movie automatically instead of having to reload a page or press a back button.

Tapping the movie title will display more detailed information such as the cast and a fuller synopsis. If there is a play button on the movie poster, users can tap it to view the official trailer. Tickets can be purchased by tapping the underlined showtime as well.

The changes have taken effect immediately.
