Galaxy Nexus slips out of retail shops

Retailers have partly spoiled the launch of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Both Best Buy and Verizon itself have seen some unaware staff sell the LTE phone ahead of its expected release late this week. In both the Android Central and Droid-Life instances, customers successfully activated, showing that there's no temporary block on early activations.

The Verizon edition is fundamentally similar to the international version we reviewed with the necessary exception of the switches to CDMA for voice and LTE for the main data source. Samsung has also made it slightly thicker at just under 9.5mm to allow for a bigger battery that offsets the LTE.

If on time, the new Nexus could ship by December 15 for $300 on a contract.
