Nintendo 3DS gets right analog add-on in US

Nintendo on Tuesday confirmed that its Circle Pad Pro add-on for the 3DS would becoming to the US. The right analog stick and shoulder button hybrid should reach the US on February 7 as a GameStop exclusive. It will carry a relatively low price at $20, although it won't come with extras.

The add-on is intended to provide game experiences closer to those on TV consoles and will count Konami's Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater and Capcom's Resident Evil: Revelations as its first US titles; the latter is due the same day as the Circle Pad Pro. Nintendo supplies its own battery and is believed to supply about 480 hours of use with just a pair of AA batteries that help avoid any extra drain on the 3DS itself.

Early 2012 will be an important period for the 3DS, with Nintendo's own, long-teased Kid Icarus: Uprising finally shipping on March 23. The new Metal Gear and Resident Evil games, and Ubisoft's Rayman Origins, are also due before the end of March.
