OTA already arriving
T-Mobile is currently distributing a software update for Samsung's Galaxy S II, outfitting the device with Android 2.3.5 and a number of new features. The release enables subscribers to take advantage of Wi-Fi calling, a feature that the carrier has recently added to several other phones such as the Amaze 4G and BlackBerry Bold 9900.
Aside from the Internet calling feature, the software update also brings enhancements to caller ID and battery optimizations.
T-Mobile last week introduced a white edition of the Galaxy S II. Both the new color and the black variant offer 4.5-inch displays with 480x800 resolution, along with dual-core 1.5GHz processors, eight-megapixel primary cameras and HSPA+ radios capable of theoretical download speeds of up to 42Mbps.
The carrier is already said to be rolling out the update as an automatic over-the-air download, though users will be able to manually install the files beginning tomorrow via Samsung's Kies Mini utility. [via TmoNews]
