Samsung Readers Hub gets media upgrade

Samsung on Wednesday detailed an upgrade to the Readers Hub app on its tablets. Starting with the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE and moving on to the regular Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Tab 10.1, the e-book app will now support books with different media formats. It promises books with audio, photos, and videos.

The additions bring it up to par with the iBooks app on the iPad, which added support for audio and video in July 2010.

Samsung hasn't said how soon the update will roll out and whether the update is worldwide or will start out with a limited launch first. Galaxy phones' updates are also unknown. The Readers Hub is one of the few content hubs for Samsung's devices that's generally available in most countries.

If they were serious about not getting sued they probably wouldn't have felt a need to make it look like a wooden book shelf.
