ASUS Transformer Prime hits UK in January, dock mandatory

updated 08:50 pm EST, Thu December 15, 2011

UK pricing set at 499 for package

Asus' Transformer Prime tablet has been confirmed for a January launch in the UK, however customers will not be able to purchase the tablet by itself. The company will only offer the tablet in a package that includes the notebook dock. Current UK launch plans are also said to be limited to the Wi-Fi model, rather than the 3G variant.

The 10.1-inch tablet is powered by NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3 processor, along with Android 3.2 until the company releases an Ice Cream Sandwich update. The device also offers 32GB of integrated storage, a microHDMI port and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

UK customers will be able to purchase the dock package for 499 (~$774 USD) in gray or champagne color options. US pricing is set at $500 for the tablet and $150 for the dock, which are available separately. [via Pocket-Lint]
