Warpia ConnectHD also offers streaming, gaming

Warpia is readying the ConnectHD for wireless video chat for home big screen TVs. The Connect HD (SWP400VC) uses a HD wide-angle webcam combined with a multidirectional microphone allowing users to make 720p video conference calls from their living room. The device also has other talents and can also allow users to stream 1080p multimedia content wirelessly to an HDTV from a laptop or PC.

It also has the potential enable an Xbox 360-like capability by allowing users to play PC webcam games on their HDTVs too, taking the gaming experience away from a desk and into the living room as well. The ConnectHD is able to achieve this as it has a 30ft line of site range between a PC and an HDTV.

Setup is relatively straightforward as the wireless adapters are pre-associated taking any potential pain out of the wireless pairing process. The ConnectHD is available for pre-order for $120 and works with PCs running Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, or Windows XP SP3.
