Nokia Windows Phone event due at CES start

Nokia sent invitations to Electronista and the press confirming its plans for an event at the CES expo in Las Vegas. The company's large presence at the show would include a presentation the afternoon of January 9, the day before the show formally opens. The gathering is clearly Windows Phone-oriented as it shows the Metro UI tile theme and the same "Amazing Everyday" slogan Nokia uses for the Lumia 800 and 710.

Both leaks and code references have pointed to Nokia launching the Lumia 900, a high-end device that might be tailored to the US first. If living up to expectations, it would have a 4.3-inch screen and possibly LTE-based 4G for AT&T.

Other tips have had a LTE-based Lumia 800 for AT&T and Verizon in testing, although it may be a test mule to gauge devices on the network rather than the end product.

The CES occasion is expected to be Nokia's proof that it's genuinely committed to US smartphones after years of focusing its attention on Europe and letting the iPhone and Android take over. Its current Lumia phones have had a large part of their design come from the US, and Nokia is known to be courting US carriers where it previously took a hard line that often left it selling devices unlocked.

are you going to waste your time at the Nokia CES? I would prefer you going to Lego Land and do an update report on Lego phone... the original Metro UI tile phone.
