Service available in North America, UK, Japan

Samsung has announced that its Smart TVs finally have been paired with support for YouTube videos in 3D. The service was first noted earlier this year at IFA, where Samsung claimed it would have exclusive access to YouTube 3D videos for a short time.

Users will have access to more than 8000 videos in 3D, however Samsung claims it will be teaming with YouTube to expand the offerings in the future. It remains unclear if the number is pointing to videos recorded in 3D, or a mix that includes videos that have been converted from 2D to 3D using software.

YouTube 3D videos are currently available in North America, the UK and Japan. Users will be able to add the functionality to their supported Samsung TVs via an update in the company's Smart TV app portal.
