Skype Wi-Fi free for an hour for a week

Skype to spike interest in the ability to use its credit system for Wi-Fi has made an offer giving away access for free during the holidays. iOS, Mac, and Windows users will get an hour's worth of free Wi-Fi inside of 50 American airports between December 21 and 27. Although pitched as an option for chats, the connection is generic and will let users do anything online during a layover.

Access goes through partners with Skype, such as Boingo or Fon, and includes some of the largest airports in the US, including Austin-Bergstrom, Chicago O'Hare, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, JFK, and San Francisco International.

Outside of the free access, rates vary from provider to provider.
