Docks with iPad or can be used stand-alone

Sakar has unveiled a series of Disney character cameras that work directly with the Apple iPad. The seven-megapixel Disney iPad Camera can either be used as a stand-alone camera or, uniquely, plug into the iPad's 30-pin docking connector for use with the tablet, skipping the computer entirely. Images can be edited using Disney's Disney Pix app (free, App Store).

The camera carries a 1.5-inch preview screen for use when the device is not paired with the iPad. The camera incorporates a 4X zoom lens. Its built-in battery is recharged when docked with the iPad. For storage, the camera has a microSDHC slot and ships with just 32MB of storage of its own.

The Disney iPad Camera comes in five models, each bearing an iconic Disney character, including Mickey, Minnie, Princess, Tinkerbell, and Phineas and Ferb. It's priced at $60 and can be ordered at B&H Photo. Sakar hasn't released a ship date.
