HTC Evo View 4G gets long awaited Android 3 update

Sprint sent notice late Wednesday that it was rolling out a long-expected Android 3.2 update for the HTC Evo View 4G. The seven-inch tablet now gets a true tablet-optimized version of Android and uses the touchscreen navigation keys in place of hardware to steer the interface. Sprint warned that the major interface switch would clear custom widgets and screen layouts.

Outside of the core upgrade, it also brings tougher security both through 3LM and Sprint's own Data Link. Google video chat has been given some fixes, and Bluetooth can be turned back on after airplane mode switches on.

Sprint officially lists the update as pushing out Thursday and may only gradually send it to devices over coming days. A manual check should get the update faster for those who want it as soon as possible.
