Apple-made TV also not expected to show

Contrary to a recent DigiTimes report, Apple is not planning to show off new iPads at Macworld|iWorld, says The Loop's Jim Dalrymple. The writer cites "a number" of his sources, who say that an iPad 3 won't show at Macworld, or even at the Consumer Electronics Show; both events are scheduled for January. The sources also add that Apple's upcoming TV set won't make an appearance.

While Dalrymple isn't identifying his sources, he is known to have industry contacts which may make him more reliable. It is also highly unlikely that Apple would choose to announce new iPads in January; the first two generations launched in the spring of 2010 and 2011, respectively, and there are no other signs that an announcement is imminent. Apple has not participated in a Macworld since 2009, instead preferring to stage its own press events.
