Tablet shows days after A200 begins pre-sale
Just days after Acer put its Iconia Tab A200 tablet up for pre-sale in the UK, the upgraded A700 model has surfaced in Russia. The latter tablet is described by Nomobile.ru as thinner and lighter than the former, with a housing that measures 9.8mm thick, while the 10.1-inch display has been upgraded with 1920x1200 resolution.
The A700 is also expected to be faster than its predecessor, packing a quad-core Tegra 3 chip that runs at 1.3GHz. Other hardware features include SIM and microSD slots, HDMI output, a five-megapixel camera with LED flash, and a front-facing sensor that can record video in HD resolution.
The tablet is said to include a 9800 mAh battery that is claimed to reach 10 hours of video playback, however the official estimate has yet to be independently confirmed.
Acer is expected to officially unveil the Iconia Tab A700 at a special event at CES, however the tablet may not ship until March or April.
