Nokia Ace seen prematurely in holiday greeting
The Nokia Ace looks to have been seen for the first time after an inadvertent leak from a Microsoft partner. An animation from a "#1 group" intercepted by PocketNow shows a device clearly different than the Lumia 800, with a front-facing camera and a very different speaker grille. The presences of both the AT&T badge and a "4G" status market leave no doubt that it's headed directly to the US carrier.
Some details aren't available without specs, such as the screen size or built-in storage. AT&T's loose definition of 4G could also leave it carrying anything from 14.4Mbps HSPA, technically 3G, through to 'real' 4G with LTE. Code references to AT&T LTE testing do suggest the higher speed is more likely.
The Ace is commonly seen as an Americanized version of the upcoming Lumia 900. If so, it could have as much as a 4.3-inch screen. Nokia's existing lineup would imply at least 16GB of storage and an eight-megapixel rear camera.
AT&T and Nokia together are presumed to be introducing the Ace at a CES event and may ship it March 18.
