Wilson to ship Sleek 4G-V 4G phone amp in spring

Wilson Electronics has released an update to its original cradle cellphone signal booster with the Sleek 4G-V. The vehicle cradle now gets support for Verizon's 700MHz LTE signal to boost signal strength. The 800MHz and 1,900MHz 3G and 2G frequencies are also supported. The antenna in the amp is said to be 20 times more powerful as that found in the average smartphone.

That antenna does need to be attached to the exterior of the car for the best results, however. The accessory will also boost handset life, the company claims, by reducing the amount of work the phone needs to do to maintain a connection. An indoor kit will also be offered. The amp ships in the spring, priced at $150. [via The Verge]
