HTC Radiant seen as LTE variant on Titan
The HTC Radiant has been given its first sighting on Thursday at the same time as Microsoft was fixing existing phones. The hardware caught by PocketNow is superficially similar to the Titan but clear changes to the logo and front camera that suggest either larger cosmetics or, more likely, a smaller phone than the 4.7-inch ancestor. Slight changes to the camera and a non-removable battery may be the other external changes.
As a probable high-end phone on AT&T's network, it might keep the 1.5GHz Snapdragon and 512MB of RAM, although it may up the 1,600mAh battery capacity to offset LTE's battery drain.
Along with AT&T, Australia's Telstra and Canadian carriers might be candidates for the Radiant. The American carrier could unveil the Radiant next Monday and ship within the first few months of the year.
The software fix has been detailed the same day in release notes from Plaffo and mostly fixes a chronic problem with the keyboard suddenly disappearing during typing. Other fixes improve syncing Gmail and Exchange Server 2003. Privacy concerns sparked by the device collecting location information without consent have also been fixed and now require explicit permission.
Updates won't necessarily be available all at the same time and might be staggered out over days or weeks depending on the phone and carrier.
