Three rugged FinePix XP-series introduced

Fujifilm has just taken the wraps off its FinePix XP150, XP100, and XP50 rugged cameras. The XP150 has a GPS sensor for geotagging images, and both it and the XP100 are waterproof up to 33 feet and shockproof from drops up to 6.5 feet, along with being dustproof and resistant to temperatures down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. The XPS50 has the same dustproof and temperature credentials, but halves the shock and waterproof numbers.

The follow-ups to last year's XP30, XP20, and XP10 cameras, the LCDs were made brighter, the focus speeds made faster and ergonomics improved.

All share the common traits of a 14-megapixel sensor, 2.7-inch screen, and 5X zoom lens. The double-sealed door protects the battery and memory card slots as well as the USB and micro HD video connections. The cameras can record 1080p videos at 30FPS.

The FinePix XP150 and XP100 will cost $280 and $250, respectively. The XP150 will be available in black and orange, with the XP100 available in black, blue, orange, silver, and green. The FinePix XP50 will cost $200 and be offered in black, blue, orange, silver and green. All arrive in March, with a bundle including a floating strap, silicone skin and neoprene sports case due later in the spring.
