Samsung ChatON leaves Android for first time

Samsung has spread its ChatON messaging app beyond its own platforms for the first time with the iOS version. The port (App Store) shares much the same interface as its previously Android- and Bada-based version. The app is Samsung's answer to BlackBerry Messenger, iMessage, and Kik, and brings in its own extras such as on-screen drawing, emoticons, and even a rank system.

The app creates the device registration common to many of these services by getting a code through a text message, rather than relying on OS-specific features.

ChatON works on any iOS 4.2 or later device, although it's not optimized for the iPad. [via TechCrunch]

    Not completely true

"ChatON works on any iOS 4.2 or later device...". A Samsung product will NEVER be installed on any of my devices!

Look how they made the iOS version ugly on purpose, devoid of any competent UI design, while their native one looks... oh wait.
