Brilliant display paired with fast hardware

Following Acer's special event ahead of CES, Electronista had a chance to try out the company's upcoming flagship tablet. The Iconia Tab A700 touts a 1080p display paired with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, which combine to raise the bar in Android tablet hardware.

The 1080p display is stunning, bringing a pixel density that clearly beats any of its current competition. The device can play 1080p videos, while text presentation for websites brings the experience closer to a notebook computer for those with perfect vision.

The quad-core processor easily handled interface transitions and effects, despite the higher resolution. Games seemed to be able to maintain a high frame rate, and we did not notice any lag or hesitation that can be experienced with other Android tablets.

Acer has yet to provide pricing details or a launch date for the A700.
