Devices feature RapidBoot, sleep mode updates
Lenovo has introduced a range of new notebooks, including U-series ultrabooks, S-series mini notebooks, Y-series performance offerings, and midrange Z-series models. The U310 and U410 feature 0.7-inch thick housings and weigh in at 3.74 lbs., falling close to the 13-inch MacBook Air's external specs.
The U-series notebooks also feature Lenovo's RapidBoot technology and Ultra Smart, which updates e-mail, instant messages and social networking feeds even while the device is in sleep mode. Both models are also claimed to provide up to eight hours of battery life.
The S200 and S206 mini notebooks, which integrate 11.5-inch displays, measure 0.81 inches at the thickest point and are claimed to reach more than four hours of battery life. The S200 is built with a dual-core Atom processor, while the S206 steps to a dual-core AMD chip.
The Y480 and Y580 feature Intel's Core i-series processors paired with NVIDIA discrete graphics. Other features include brushed metal covers, Dolby Home Theater V4 and JBL-designed speakers, and integrated DVD or Blu-ray drives.
The Z380, Z480 and Z580 bring HD displays with resolutions ranging from 13.3 to 15.6 inches, Intel Core i-series processors and options for NVIDIA GeForce graphics. The notebooks also integrate multi-touch trackpads, Dolby Home Theater V4 audio processing and a variety of color options.
