Splashproof LTE Pantech tablet orders now live

The splashproof Pantech Element tablet unveiled a few days ago is now available for pre-order at AT&T stores. The 16GB device should ship on January 22, though there are no examples in stores for demos as of yet, Engadget wrote. The price points of $300 on a two-year LTE data contract and $450 without one make this the least expensive tablet offered by the carrier.

The Android 3.2 OS would be slightly customized, and other major specs include an eight-inch touchscreen, and a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor. A five-megapixel camera lives out back, with a two-megapixel shooter in the front. The ports would have closeable covers on them in order to protect it from water, but the tablet isn't made to withstand submersions.

We expect to see the tablet in person at CES.
