Device offers most connected features

iHome has introduced one of the more interesting iPad accessories that Electronista has seen in recent time, the iDM5 dock. The device combines many of the features that are offered by separate equipment: a Bluetooth-connected keyboard, stereo speakers and a speakerphone, all in a single piece of hardware.

The island-style keyboard appears to perfectly match the layout of a MacBook, with a slight incline that is conducive to easy typing. The keyboard is not cramped or cheap-feeling, in contrast to many other standalone Bluetooth keyboards.

The iDM5 is one of the best Bluetooth keyboards that we've tried, though the sound quality from the integrated speakers is robust but not on par with many dedicated speaker docks. Nonetheless, the device is one of the most effective 'productivity' accessories that we can think of.

iHome has yet to provide launch details or pricing information for the iDM5.
