Android/iOS Bluetooth keyboard
As tablets become more popular, people are starting to use their portable devices for extended typing. This has opened the market for external Bluetooth keyboards that improve the typing experience, without taking up additional space. ZAGG has attempted to address this issue with the ZAGGkeys FLEX, which includes the added feature of supporting both Android and iOS.
The ZAGGkeys FLEX builds upon previous iterations and incorporates both Android and iOS support into a single device. Users can switch between the two modes via a small switch located on the back of the keyboard, along with a power switch, pair button, and microUSB port. The overall design resembles a MacBook Pro, with an aluminum base and black chiclet keys. Typing is relatively comfortable, however, the smaller size is not optimal for extending typing sessions. On top of the standard keys, ZAGG also includes a row of keys dedicated to iOS and Android functions, such as Home, Search, and Slideshow.
ZAGG also claims that the keyboard will last upwards of four months on a single charge. To save power, the FLEX will automatically go into a standby mode after a few minutes of inactivity, but will quickly wake as soon as a key is hit.
Overall, the keyboard is very portable and great for typing longer e-mails or short reports. At $80 the keyboard is also affordable, considering it can be used with any iOS or Android device.
