Galaxy Note may get rebadge for Verizon LTE

AT&T's version of the Samsung Galaxy Note may have a short-lived exclusive if a rumor from Monday proves true. The 5.3-inch mega smartphone was said by SlashGear to be coming to Verizon as the Galaxy Journal. Little is known about the changes, although it would most likely be a straighforward switch with CDMA instead of GSM for voice, with the LTE adapted to Verizon's 4G bands.

In its AT&T form, the Galaxy Note is close to the international original form and focuses on its 5.3-inch, 800x1200 display with its signature S-Pen for optional handwriting and drawing. A dual-core 1.4GHz processor also boosts its performance slightly over the 1.2GHz Galaxy S II.

Timing for the Galaxy Journal wasn't given out in the apparent leak. AT&T is likely to have at least some weeks' lead time and might push any Verizon edition back to spring or summer, by which point it might have Android 4.0 or later.
