Phone shows up briefly on MobiCity's UK homepage
The Samsung Galaxy S II HD may soon be hitting the UK. MoDaCo posted an image of the smartphone, which features a 4.65-inch 1280x720 screen, comingon UK online phone retailer MobiCity's homepage. While the teaser has now disappeared from MobiCity's UK site, its sibling in Australia is taking orders for immediate shipment of the device.
The Galaxy S II HD was launched in Korea, Samsung's home base, back in late September. Its over-sized screen is the same Super AMOLED display as on the Galaxy Nexus but without the curved glass. It comes powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and has the eight-megapixel camera of the Galaxy S II line, not the Nexus' five-megapixel sensor. Its 1,850 mAh battery gives up to 12 hours and 40 minutes of GSM talk or up to five hours and 50 minutes on 3G. The phone ships NFC-enabled.
MobiCity in Australia lists the GSM phone as model E120s and prices it unlocked at at $749 AU ($773 USD). Other countries already have the LTE version of the same phone.
