Facebook set to launch new Open Graph apps?

First batch expected Wednesday

Facebook is reportedly preparing to launch a fresh batch of Open Graph applications on its social networking site. Like existing Open Graph titles, the new apps are said to focus on sharing information between users by posting actions back to the site after a user gives initial permission.

Third-party developers have reportedly been working to create new apps for the site, however some are said to have been forced to wait for Facebook to launch the titles for public availability.

Facebook has yet to fully detail the new capabilities, though the apps are expected to include a wide range of features such as work-out tracking or purchases. The company has scheduled a press event on Wednesday, where additional details are expected to be announced. [via All Things D]
