Limited edition Defy+ with JCB branding now out

Motorola has teamed up with construction machine maker JCB on a limited-edition model of its ruggedized Defy+ smartphone. It includes a visco-plastic protective sleeve with the JCB logo on the back, and has construction site-oriented apps preloaded, including a spirit-level, a theodolite, a decibel meter and recorder, a flashlight, a unit converter, a calculator, and a DIY store locator. Push to Talk functionality will also be included in the phone.

The phone's specs are otherwise identical to the existing Defy+, such as the 1GHz processor, Android 2.3, and 3.7-inch touchscreen covered by Gorilla Glass. There is a five-megapixel camera onboard, along with 2GB of internal memory and a bundled 2GB microSD memory card. It's also dustproof, water resistant, and scratch resistant. A longer, curly cord is included for the car charger.

Only available in the UK, the phone costs £260 contract-free (about $400).
