Sony Windows Phone prototype leaks online

New photos shared unusually by NokiaWP have revealed what could be a Sony Ericsson handset running Windows Phone. Clearly branded as a prototype, the phone may be an upcoming device or an old, abandoned project, however. The last leak of a reported Sony Ericsson WP7 phone showed off a QWERTY slider, so this could be an old prototype, though its size could hide a sliding hardware keyboard.

What's more, Sony has bought out Ericsson's stake in their Sony Ericsson venture, so a future device would only wear a Sony badge. Still, this prototype could have been made before that decision, and the photos are said to date back to March.

Sony is expected to make announcements regarding any new hardware at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, as well as some related handset news just before then. [via PocketNow]
