Early entry for a quad-core processor in a phone
HTC may be changing its codename for its new as-yet-to-be-released quad-core handset. Pocketnow reports that the company's future flagship phone would be referred to internally as the Endeavor instead of the Edge as it was previously known. In the global retail market, the smartphone may be branded the Supreme by the time it ships.
News of the Edge/Endeavor first leaked back in November. It's believed that the phone will sport an NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The 4.7-inch screen would provide a 720p resolution. The rear-facing camera would still shoot at eight megapixels with a wide f2.2, 28mm lens.
HTC, if it repeats past behavior, most likely will unveil the phone and other devices at the Mobile World Congress in February. It could begin shipping in late winter or early spring.
