Olympus to revive classic camera with OM-D

Olympus to unveil OM-D MFT camera in February?


Olympus is likely to unveil a new compact digital camera with a product called the OM-D, which was trademarked on January 3. While the camera hasn't officially been revealed, Olympus did tease its "latest Olympus masterpiece" is coming in a teaser ad. It is expected to be a modern, digital camera styled after the film OM-1 of the past and the more recent OM-2000.

The leaked specs include a 16-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, an electronic viewfinder, a new autofocus system, and a weatherproof magnesium body. As such, the believed price of the camera would be about $1,100.

The camera is expected to be unveiled on February 8 in Japan at the CP+ Photo show. [via 43rumors]
