Xbox 360 to get fix for video color gamut issues

Microsoft's Xbox Live Director of Programming, Larry Hryb, acknowledged an issue with color space in Xbox 360 video. Some of the third-party apps in the fall 2011 Dashboard don't display the correct color range when invoked. Hryb didn't have a timeframe for a fix, but promised it "soon."

Others have noted that certain video apps, such as Epix, tend to be slow or lock up.

The video expansion was one of the most ambitious steps ever for the Xbox beyond its gaming roots, adding dozens of services worldwide. Many of the services themselves had a hand in the apps and may have added to the complexity of the new Dashboard.
