Olympus OM-D image shows quality finish

The upcoming Olympus OM-D camera, due for an official unveiling on February 8, has now been seen, at least partially. 43Rumors shared a leaked image of some of the top of the camera, which will be the first digital shooter from Olympus' flagship OM series that dates back 40 years. The Micro Four Thirds camera appears to have a high-quality metal body.

Olympus recently trademarked the OM-D name and invited press to a February 8 event that stresses the O and M letters. A coming soon bookmark is also present on the company's website, promising The Beginning of the New.

As for specs, they are expected to include a magnesium, weather-sealed body, a weight of 373 grams for just the body, and a 16-megapixel sensor created with HDR shooting in mind. The ISO range is believed to range from 200 to 25,600, while the electronic viewfinder will have 1.44 million dots. A three-inch, OLED screen with a 610,000-pixel resolution can tilt away from the body. The body will otherwise contain a five-axis image stabilizer and a fast AF tracker with 3D. It will reportedly be offered in black or silver, with an assumed price of about $1,100.
