Honor second handset to ship with Android 4.0

Huawei began shipping its Honor smartphone to China Unicom late last week. The Honor joins the Galaxy Nexus in that it ships preloaded with Android 4.0, the latest mobile OS from Google. Otherwise, the handset has a single-core, 1.4GHz processor, 4-inch, 480x854 touchscreen and an eight-megeapixel camera with 1080p recording, autofocus and an HDR mode.

There is also a VGA front camera and, unlike the Galaxy Nexus, a built-in FM radio. The built-in 4GB of memory can be expanded thanks to a microSD memory card slot. Two microphones for ambient noise reduction are also built-in. The 1,930mAh battery has a generous capacity to power the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.2, and 3G WCDMA/HSPA radios. GPS, a gyroscope, light, and electronic compass sensors are otherwise included. DLNA media sharing serves as its main software extra.

On Valentine's Day (February 14), China Unicom will offer the handset in white. Prices or ship dates aren't revealed, nor have details of when other countries' versions of the Honor will get the Android 4.0 release. [via Mobile-Review]
