Bluetooth compliance brings V66 closer to release
Last month, the ZTE V66 popped up at the FCC awaiting approval for its 4G LTE wireless. Now, thanks to the Bluetooth SIG filing, onlookers have a better view of the seven-inch tablet. The device is expected to show up on Verizon's shelves in the not to distant future.
The V66 first showed itself at the PT/Expo Comm China in Beijing back in September. At the time, it was carrying the model T98 moniker. By the time it reached the FCC, it was branded the V66, with the "V" possibly indicative of the fact that it will be carried in the US by Verizon.
The V66 will be one of the earliest tablets to be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The 1.3GHz CPU is paired with a 1280x800 display and 16GB of internal storage. It's expected to come with Android 3.2, although timing might give it a quick path to 4.0.
ZTE in its submission has indicated that the V66 will only be available in North America and Europe, skipping its native China.
