Collateral highlights account level data plans
In December, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam told listeners at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference that the carrier would begin offering shared minute family data plans some time this year. The timing of such plans may be sooner rather than later. Engadget has posted a screenshot of internal training material referencing shared or account level billing.
News that Verizon might begin offering shared data services first appeared last June. In October, some customers reported that in response to inquiries on data usage, they received auto-responses with usage estimates referencing shared data consumption.
The screen shot was attributed to internal educational collateral describing an update to Verizon's account management application. It outlines a new section titled "account level data plans." It reveals an shared account allowance for data as well as a $10 per line charge.
