Exact release date remains unclear

Lenovo has confirmed that its ThinkPad Tablet will receive an Android 4.0 upgrade sometime in the second quarter of the year. The company already promised an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Tegra 2-equipped device, however until now the release timing was unclear.

The ThinkPad tablet is geared for enterprise buyers, bringing a 10.1-inch display with 1280x800 resolution, 1GB of RAM, HDMI output, and dual cameras. The current version, which shipped in August, runs Android 3.1.

Lenovo typically adds its own interface overlay atop the stock Android OS, though it remains unclear if the company will customize the Android 4.0 UI.

A precise date for the Ice Cream Sandwich release has yet to be announced, though it is expected to arrive as an over-the-air update. [via PCWorld]
