HTC Ville gets spied live for first time

HTC's repeatedly rumored Ville has been caught live in a hands-on video (below) and leak. An unnamed source for HTC Hub in the Montenegro city of Podgorica has shown the slim, tapered phone and confirmed that it's running Android 4.0. HTC's custom Sense 4.0 interface is on top and appears to be closely related to Sense 3.5 and 3.6, although it has new visual transitions for jumping into menus.

A check of the phone's device info backs it carrying a 1.5GHz dual-core chip (likely a Snapdragon), 1GB of RAM, and a 4.3-inch, 540x960 display not unlike the Sensation. Also on view are an eight-megapixel rear camera, a front VGA camera, and Bluetooth 4.0. HTC is following Google into having just three navigation buttons for Android 4.0 and is dropping the dedicated search button.

Launch details are still vague, but it's presumed to be showing up at Mobile World Congress in late February with a release later in the spring. The employment of the leaker might be cut short, since the person made the mistake of showing the phone number, model ID, and other information that could trace the phone back to whoever was supposed to use it.
