Rugged Kyocera DuraPlus coming soon to Sprint

Sprint just announced it will soon add the Kyocera DuraPlus handset to its lineup. The candybar supports the carrier's Direct Connect push-to-talk service and is ultra-rugged, meeting military-spec 810G standards for dust, shock, water, and other conditions. There is also a built-in LED flashlight.

A heavy-duty remote speaker and microphone can be connected for those who need to use it hands-free. The phone comes standard with a 1,650mAh battery that promises 9.5 hours of talk time, and Sprint offers a 2,300mAh battery as well.

The carrier already sells Kyocera's DuraMax and DuraCore ruggedized phones.

Dura Plus devices will arrive before the summer, though pricing isn't being revealed at this early stage.
