Apple takes Mac OS X 10.7.3 live
Apple on Wednesday afternoon posted Mac OS X 10.7.3 (release notes). The Lion upgrade adds several languages, including Catalan for Spaniards as well as Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian. RAW photo compatibility has expanded to several new cameras, including the Nikon J1 and V1, Olympus' current PEN cameras, and current Sony Alpha and NEX cameras, such as the NEX-5N.
Bug fixes improve graphics performances on wake for some iMacs with AMD graphics, a Wi-Fi connection issue on wake, and using a smart card to log into the OS. Compatibility with the Windows world is also a focus, with fixes for Windows file sharing, printing Word files with markup, and authenticating to a Samba DFS share. A problem has been fixed that stopped Safari from opening if the computer hadn't connected to its wireless network.
Directory Services have been boosted with improved binding to certain kinds of Active Directory systems, better reliability and login support, and better compatibility with certain kinds of schemas and passwords.
Safari 5.1.3 is already included with the release. Users can check Software Update on each system or download the updater to push the update out to each system they own.
