Xbox Live TV gets new CinemaNow, Crackle apps

Microsoft has further expanded the content capabilities of the Xbox 360 with the arrival of the new Xbox Live TV apps for CinemaNow and Crackle. Users in the US can download and access content from both of the new apps immediately. Users in Australia, Canada and the UK now have access to Crackle, but with no current plans to launch CinemaNow in those markets due to content licensing rights.

Crackle offers Xbox 360 users a wide range of big-name, but older full-length movies and TV shows for free, including some original TV content. Among its current offerings are High School High, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Principal, Spring Break, and La Bamba. TV shows include Good Times, Married with Children, VIP and ROUGHNECKS. Once the app is downloaded, users need to create a Crackle account using a password provided to login.

For US users, the Xbox Live CinemaNow app brings with it access to its collection of around 14,000 full-length feature films, shorts, music concerts and TV shows. Content includes shows from Fox, ABC, Disney, MGM, Miramax, NBC, Universal, Sony, Warner Bros., and Lions Gate among others.
