App no longer invisible on Android Market

The GSM version of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus appears to have added official support for Google's Wallet app, which now appears in the Android Market for AT&T subscribers. Early buyers were able to run the NFC payment app, however the title was invisible when attempting to search for it in the Android Market directly from the phone.

Sprint was the only US carrier that appeared to support Google's NFC payment system when the Nexus first arrived. The title was omitted from Market results and pre-installed content for AT&T and Verizon customers, fueling speculation that the carriers had asked for the app to be hidden in an attempt to reduce competition with their own NFC payment system, known as Isis, that is still under development.

Users have also reported success installing Google Wallet on Verizon's LTE/CDMA Nexus, however the app is said to be still missing from the search results in the Android Market app. The title is claimed to be installable when visiting the web-based Market at market.android.com directly from the browser rather than the native app. [via Droid-Life]
