Taiwan company does strange take on the late Jobs
A bizarre commercial has surfaced from Taiwan promoting a new Android tablet showing Taiwanese impersonator taking on the trademark Steve Jobs black turtleneck and blue jeans look. In the ad, embedded below, the character is equipped with angel wings and a halo promoting the new tablet on stage with a slideshow in the background, much as Jobs’ would have in launching a new Apple product. It concludes with the Jobs-like character saying ‘Thank God I finally get to play with other tablets.’
The ad is likely to capture the attention of Cupertino’s lawyers who recently moved to stop the release of a Steve Jobs action figure. An Action Electronics spokesperson opted for an equally strange justification for the direct play on the late Apple founder, who famously derided Android as ‘shit.’
‘Steve Jobs always promoted things that were good for people, Apple products, so his image can also promote other things that are good,’ said Chelsea Chen.
‘We have no choice but to use Android, we can't use iOS,’ she added.
The ad has drawn a number of stinging criticisms from Apple fans who call variously call it ‘distasteful,’ and ‘disgusting.’ Whether one deems it harmless, or disrespectful, it has certainly had the effect of raising the profile of an otherwise forgettable product. [via Reuters]

Wow, that's tasteless
Hope they're getting their butt sued off. Then again, it's Taiwan, so they probably can't be touched. Still, it's bad karma... they'll pay for it in their own afterlife.
