ADzero Android phone gets a bamboo body

Kieron-Scott Woodhouse, a 23-year-old student from Middlesex University in the UK, has created this prototype smartphone. Dubbed ADzero, it runs on Android, though other technical details aren't revealed. The body, made up largely of one piece of four-year-old organic bamboo, is said to weigh half of that of an iPhone and has a larger screen.

Woodhouse is in his final year of product design and was approached by a tech entrepreneur while showcasing his design at the London Design Week in 2011. The rear camera has a ring flash for less shadows in photos.

The Bamboo ADzero is set to go on sale in China along with fashion stores in the UK. Pricing and timing aren't yet known, however. [via Pocket-Lint]
