Comments leave room to speculate on other models

Nokia's head of imaging, Damian Dinning, has dismissed rumors that suggest the company is preparing to release a Lumia 910 equipped with a 12-megapixel camera. In a Twitter post responding to the speculation, the executive claims that such a device "doesn't exist."

Dinning noted that the forthcoming Lumia 900 integrates the same 8.7-megapixel shooter that can be found on the company's N9 and Lumia 800 handsets.

Several recent leaks, including an early listing on a Dutch retailer, have pointed to a Lumia 910 with a 12-megapixel sensor and support for HSPA+ 3G networks. The company currently utilizes a 12-megapixel sensor for the N8, which is rumored to be succeeded by the 803 with optical zoom and other camera upgrades.

The executive did leave some room for speculation, claiming that the next best cameraphone "will have a Nokia logo on it, just like the current one." [via Phonearena]
