Dual-chip GTX690 tops list

NVIDIA's 2012 Kepler-based GPU lineup may have been revealed ahead of an official announcement. A list of alleged specs posted by EXPreview suggest the card range will be built from three different GPUs, including the GK110 produced from a 550mm² die. The flagship GTX690 is said to integrate two GK110 chips, for a total of 3.5GB of memory, with a 1.5GHz shader clock and a 4.5GHz memory clock.

The single-chip GTX680 is expected to offer 2GB of GDDR5 memory tied to the same GK110 GPU as the GTX690, but with an 850MHz core clock and 1.7GH shader clock. Stepping down to the GTX670 drops down to 1.75GB of memory with a lower bus width and fewer stream processors.

The specs list further suggests the GTX680 will offer a 45-percent performance jump over AMD's HD7970 chip, while the GK104-based GTX660 will be comparable to the current GTX580 card.

Many of the Kepler-powered cards are said to be ready for launch in April, including the GTX680 for $649, the GTX670 for $499 and the GTX660 for $319. The GTX690 is not expected to ship until the third quarter of the year for $999, while the lower-end models are claimed to be slated for May. [via ITProPortal]
